How To Add Video In Blogger Post

Adding videos to your Blogger posts is an easy way to grab visitors' attention, clearly explain ideas, and improve SEO by keeping visitors on your page longer.

Whether you want to upload directly from your computer, embed from YouTube, or link from Google Drive, Blogger makes the process quick and simple. Here is how you can add videos to your posts in just a few clicks.

Step 1. First, go to Blogger, open an existing post, or click on 'New Post'.

Step 2. Now, place your cursor where you want to display the video, then click on the 'Insert Video' icon (video camera symbol) in the toolbar.

Step 3. Upload from your computer or choose an option from YouTube.

Step 4. Insert Video

Upload: Click Browse, select your video file, and wait for the upload to finish.

YouTube: Paste the video link into the search box, click the search icon, select your video thumbnail, and click Select.

Option 1: Upload from Computer : 

Select the Source:
  • When you click the video icon and choose Upload from computer, a popup window will appear with an upload area.
Insert the Video:
  • Click the blue Browse button or simply drag and drop your file into the window.
  • Supported formats include standard video types like MP4, AVI, MPEG, and MOV.
  • Keep file size under 100 MB for smooth processing.
  • Wait for Processing: After the upload bar reaches 100%, Google processes the video for web playback. A gray thumbnail or preview placeholder will show in your editor while processing finishes.

Option 2: Embed from YouTube

Select source:
  • When you select YouTube from the video dropdown menu, a popup with two tabs will appear: Uploads and Search.
Add video:
  • Using "Search": Click on the Search tab, paste the correct URL or type keywords into the search bar, and click the magnifying glass icon.
  • Using "Uploads": If you are signed in to the Google account linked to your YouTube channel, you will see the videos you have uploaded to that channel.
  • Select and insert: Click on the correct video thumbnail (a blue outline will appear around it) and click the "Select" button in the bottom-left corner to insert it into your post.

Step 5. Finally, click the 'Publish' or 'Update' button in the top right corner.
